Chris McFadden

Managing Director, KKR

Christopher McFadden is the Founder and Managing Partner of Canyon Healthcare Partners, a healthcare-focused private equity firm. He is also a Special Advisor to Athyrium Capital Management, a NY-based investment firm focused on structured healthcare investments.

Previously, Chris was a Managing Partner with Health Evolution Partners and responsible for managing the Firm’s Spectrum Fund. Prior to joining Health Evolution Partners, Chris served as a Managing Director with Goldman, Sachs & Co., overseeing healthcare investments as part of the Americas Special Situations Group (AmSSG).

Mr. McFadden was formally a Managing Director responsible for Goldman Sachs’ healthcare services, pharmaceutical outsourcing and health information technology equity research coverage.

Chris serves as Chairman of the Board of Mauna Kea Technologies (FR:MKEA), as a Board Member and Audit Committee Chair of Foundation Radiology Group (private) and a Board Member of ValueCentric, LLC (private).

In addition, Chris serves as a Trustee and Treasurer for the Natural History Museum of the Adirondacks. In 2015, Chris was admitted as a Member of the President’s Circle of The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine.

Chris and his family live in Marin County, California.

Jonathan Evans

President and CEO, Founding Partner, innovaTel Telepsychiatry

Jonathan has been employed in the behavioral healthcare field for over 30 years. His career began at Hamot Institute for Behavioral Health where he was initially employed in the emergency department providing initial evaluations for patients presenting in the emergency room. During his tenure at Hamot IBH he worked in many departments including emergency/ crisis intervention, outpatient therapy, Director of the Diagnostic and Evaluation Center(DEC) and the Director of the Adult Division, including inpatient behavioral health, substance abuse and geriatric units, outpatient services and the partial hospitalization programs. In addition, Mr. Evans served on the trauma rehabilitation team.

Jonathan left Hamot IBH in 1993 to become the founding President and CEO of Safe Harbor Behavioral Health. Safe Harbor was established to provide intensive outpatient services to patients with serious mental illness and to provide 24 hour a day crisis intervention services to anyone in Erie County.

Jonathan initiated a telepsychiatry program at Safe Harbor Behavioral Health 7 years ago through a SAMSHA Grant, successfully enhancing access to care in the outpatient clinic. Recently, Safe Harbor launched SafeLine, a 24-hour a day line dedicated to children and adolescents who are being bullied. Safe Harbor’s annual operating budget has grown from the initial $300,000 to over $ 12 million. It provides outpatient services to approximately 7000 individuals and employs over 250 full and part-time staff. Jonathan has presented at a number of national conferences on behavioral healthcare including Open Minds Performance Institute, The National council on Behavioral health Care and the Pennsylvania Community Providers Association on topics ranging from productivity contracting for clinicians, strategic planning and telepsychiatry.

He was also the founding Board Chairman of Presque Isle Psychiatric Associates, a non-profit organization that provides psychiatric coverage for hospitals and community based providers. In addition, Jonathan serves on many Boards including:

He received his Bachelors Degree in Psychology and his Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania.

Charles Gordon, MD
Co-Founder, Texas Spine and Joint Hospital

After attending the Baylor College of Medicine and completing his residency at the General Surgery Medical College of Virginia in 1988, Dr. Gordon embarked on a career that was keen on putting the patient first and foremost above the particular medical issue they brought with them.

Dr. Gordon is a Board Certified Neurosurgeon known as a leading advocate in research for the spine. He is an expert in the implementation of the latest in laser technique and stem cell (from the patient’s own body), as well as other biologic advances. He’s also on the front line of utilizing early genetic detection of potential spine and neurological problems.

Dr. Gordon is the founder of the Texas Spine & Joint Hospital, a highly respected hospital with a growing national reputation.

Chuck Ingoglia

Senior VP Public Policy and Practice Improvement, The National Council for Behavioral Health

Mr. Ingoglia is Senior Vice President of Public Policy and Practice Improvement for the National Council for Behavioral Health where he leads the national charge to ensure people have access to their potential to live full and complete lives. During the last ten years at the National Council, he has made valuable contributions to the organization in establishing direction and achieving specific goals for the over 2800 member organizations nationwide.

As leader of the Policy and Practice Improvement Team, Mr. Ingoglia transforms the conversation about mental health and delivery of services. He effects change at both the national and state policy level by, among other things, playing a major role in Federal and State policy advocacy and analyses on myriad issues relevant to behavioral health financing and health reform. His influence and advice on policy is informed by insight gained as a result of providing site-of-service technical assistance to members.

Mr. Ingoglia has a deep knowledge of the field from both personal and professional experience. At the age of 25, when he realized that his mother had an undiagnosed anxiety disorder, he began to appreciate the impact that effective treatment can have. This very personal experience lead to a career in mental health, which started by volunteering at an emergency clinic, which then lead to a Masters of Social Work, and then to providing direct care.

Mr. Ingoglia has served as an adjunct faculty member of The George Washington University Graduate School of Political Management, where he teaches Mental Health Policy and Congress and The Politics of Non-Profits.

Before joining the National Council, Mr. Ingoglia provided policy and program design guidance to the Center for Mental Health Services at the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration under the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Earlier in his career, he directed state government relations and service system improvement projects for the National Mental Health Association, performed policy analysis for the National Association of Social Workers, and designed educational programs for mental health and addictions professionals for the Association of Ambulatory Behavioral Healthcare.

He holds a Master of Social Work and a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work, both from The Catholic University of America.

Liberty Eberly, DO

Director of Physician Engagement, Founding Partner

Dr. Liberty Eberly is a licensed Psychiatrist practicing since 2009 in Community Mental Health. This includes experience providing telepsychiatry since 2010. She has participated in the COMPASS grant program with St. Vincent’s Hospital in Erie, PA studying the effects of a team approach (includes a Primary Care Physician, Psychiatrist and Case Manager) with patients experiencing a chronic medical condition and depression.

Dr. Eberly is very interested in the coordination of primary care and behavioral health care. She is a member of American Osteopathic Association. Dr. Eberly earned her D.O. degree at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed her residency at Millcreek Community Hospital, Erie, PA. She also holds a Master’s in Medical Education.

Nauman Islam
Founding Partner

Nauman is an international business leader with experience in Singapore, the United Arab Emirates and the USA. He has more than 17 years experience in various roles with increasing responsibility, such as P&L management, sales, marketing and operations. He has worked with Fortune 500 companies such as Roper Industries, GE Oil & Gas, Cameron and Ingersoll Rand. Nauman completed his MBA from the University of Texas at Austin in July 2010. He also holds Bachelor Engineering degree in Chemical Engineering from McMaster University in 1997.

Young Chang

Partner, Potenza Capital

Young is a Partner at Potenza Capital, LP, where she manages a portfolio of LP investments in third party managers and direct private equity investments. Prior to joining Potenza, she was a Senior Investment Professional at Peregrine Investments, a large family office based in Dallas, TX. Prior to Peregrine, Young was a Vice President with Altaris Capital Partners, a private equity firm with over $750 million of assets under management. Young also worked at Goldman Sachs’ Special Situations Group, TCW/Crescent Mezzanine and in the investment banking division of Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette.

Young holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BA in Economics and Literature from Yale University.
